Donors

You can now donate to any 501c3 in the U.S. that has been registered and verified with the IRS. That means we have over 1.5 million charities where you can make a difference. If you can't find a 501c3 nonprofit that you want to support, you can reach out to us at hello@coinupapp.com and we will try to verify and add your organization.

We use Stripe to process all our donation transactions. Stripe is certified to the highest compliance standards for the security of your information.

We take your trust seriously and only share your name and email with our donation administrator (Every.org) and your selected charity so they can maintain records for your donation and tax donation receipts.

Your donation is made to your selected charity, via Every.org, a US 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity with EIN 61-1913297. Every.org then grants funds to charities on your behalf. No goods or services are provided to you in exchange for your gift. Therefore, the full amount you paid qualifies as a charitable contribution for US tax purposes. To learn more, see every.org/terms.

Our platform charges a total of 12.25% to cover all transaction costs, payment processing, reporting, and ongoing tech support. The remaining 87.75% is sent to your selected nonprofit. As the fees are related to your contribution, your entire donation should qualify as a charitable deduction. We do suggest that you consult with a tax advisor to review any tax related matters.

Yes. At the end of each year, we will send you a receipt that reflects your total contributions.

You can either search for a charity by a keyword such as “veterans” or “poverty” to find organizations that align with your interests, or you can take our Generosity Quiz to learn more about causes and charities that resonate with you.

Currently, you can link only one credit card to the email you signed up with. However, you can create another Coin Up account with a unique email and register a different debit/credit card. We plan to add the option to link more than one credit/debit card for each account in future releases.

Currently, you are only able to select one charity per Coin Up account, however you can change your choice of charity anytime. You can also do a one time donation within the app to any other organization you would like to support. You will receive a tax donation letter for all your charitable gifts.

If you wish to support more than one charity on an ongoing basis, you can also set up an additional Coin Up account with a unique email. We plan to make it possible to donate to multiple charities through one account in future releases.

Yes. You are able to make a one-time donation to any charity on our platform from the “Settings” menu in the app. This will not affect your recurring monthly donations to your chosen charity.

Your Venmo and Paypal accounts are all attached to one or more of your credit or debit cards. If you link any of your debit/credit cards to Coin Up, your transactions will round up whether it is an Apple Pay, Venmo, Paypal, or manual debit/credit card transaction.

You will see one transaction each month listed as “Stripe/Coin Up” on your debit or credit card statement for the total round ups each month, your fixed monthly amount or your one time donation.

  1. Click on the menu (3 lines) button in the upper left corner.
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Click on Update Debit/Credit Card
  4. Provide details for card and click on Done
  5. Enter Username and Password for your card (which allows coin up to only view and round up your purchases).
  6. It may ask you to answer a security question or pin that your bank requires. Please provide necessary information.
  7. You should see a confirmation screen, which then takes you back to the Dashboard.

Hope that is helpful! However, please email us at hello@coinupapp.com if you continue to have any issues.

Please contact your bank and tell them you are using "Plaid" for Coin Up and that you would like to connect your bank account. They may give you a pin or security question to make it happen. Plaid is commonly used (i.e. Mint, Venmo, and other apps) so most banks are familiar with providing any further instructions that may be needed.

In terms of your account, your credit or debit card details (i.e. the card number, exp date, code) are used to charge your card at the end of each month for your monthly donation.

The username and password credentials for your credit or debit card account provides a “view only” access, so your purchases can be rounded up for each transaction. No charges take place throughout the month, just the calculation of the round ups on the app. All of this information is secured, approved, and provided by your bank via Plaid.com.

If you have chosen round ups as your donation type, rest assured that at the end of the month the app will only collect the spare change UP TO THE LIMIT that you have set. We will never exceed your designated monthly amount.

Please note: There is a $5 minimum charge per month which goes to your chosen charity to maintain your ongoing support.

If you prefer not to share your credentials, you can choose to donate a fixed monthly amount which does not require you to enter the username and password credentials for your bank account.

We hope this information provides the insights to assure you that we always maintain our customers' security and trust at the highest standards.

If you have deleted your Coin Up account, and cannot regain access to set up a new account, please email us at hello@coinupapp.com if you would like us to reactivate your account.

If you are having trouble finding the bank that issued your credit/debit card, it may not be currently available on our app yet.
